Why go

From the water, the Hong Islands are a set of cliffs. From the top of Koh Hong, they become a group you can read, with the sea in every direction.

What you will find

A metal staircase climbs from the island to the viewpoint, about 400 steps (one count gives 419). The view at the top looks out in every direction, and there is no shade on the way up or at the top.

Getting there

By boat to Koh Hong, then on foot up the staircase. The viewpoint is only reached during a stop on the island; one of the Hong Islands tours we list mentions it by name, so check that your tour allows time for the climb.

Before you go

The steps are steep and exposed to the sun: take water and a hat, and skip it if you have trouble with stairs or heat.

Our sources mention no separate charge for the viewpoint beyond the national park fee for Koh Hong.
