Not every day out of Krabi is an island day. Inland, the Tiger Cave Temple, the Emerald Pool and a hot spring are usually sold together, as one day by road. Further away, Cheow Lan Lake in Khao Sok National Park, over the provincial line in Surat Thani, makes the longest day we list.
Phang Nga Bay is the other kind of day trip: by speedboat among limestone islands, to James Bond Island and, on some tours, a canoe into sea caves. What these days share is the time it takes to get there. If you have only a few days in Krabi, weigh that against a day close to Ao Nang.
