The experience

Best for
The three classic inland sights in one day, lunch sorted, with children
Not for you if
You are set on reaching the top of the Tiger Cave Temple, you want a trip sold as small-group, or you would rather spend a whole morning at one place than see three or four in a day

This is the same inland day as our other Tiger Cave and Emerald Pool tour, sold as a separate listing and built a little differently. The listing gives eight hours, guided in English, with hotel pickup available and lunch included.

The listing names the Krabi hot springs, the Emerald Pool and the Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), and adds a walk through the rainforest, a swim in the Emerald Pool and a visit to a meditation centre. Wat Tham Suea is itself a working meditation monastery; the listing does not say whether the centre it mentions is the temple or a separate stop, nor in what order the day runs.

How it compares: this one includes lunch and has its own rates for children aged 3 to 11 and for infants, where the other has one rate for every age and describes a small group. As on any day of this kind, the listing says you visit the temple, not that you climb to the summit, and the Emerald Pool, one of the best-known sights inland, is rarely empty.

What the tour takes in

  • The hot springs

Warm water for a soak. Khlong Thom has two hot spring sites, the hot spring waterfall and the saline hot springs, and the listing does not say which one it means.

  • Emerald Pool (Sa Morakot)

Reached by a walk through the forest, and the listing includes a swim. Swimming is allowed in the main pool only; the edges are slippery.

  • Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea)

A working meditation temple at the foot of a limestone tower, whose staircase to the summit has well over a thousand steps.

  • A meditation centre

Named in the listing without more detail; ask the operator if you want to know what the visit involves.

Common questions

How is this different from the other Tiger Cave and Emerald Pool tour?

The sights are the same three. This one lasts about eight hours rather than nine, includes lunch, mentions a meditation centre and has child and infant rates. The other describes a small group and has one rate for every age.

Will I climb to the top of the Tiger Cave Temple?

The listing does not say so. The climb is long, steep and hot, and in March 2026 two climbers died, one at the summit and one on the staircase. If the summit is why you are going, ask the operator before you book, or go on your own early in the morning.

What should I bring?

Swimwear for the Emerald Pool and the hot springs, and clothes that cover shoulders and knees for the temple, where shoes come off before the buildings. Keep food and open bottles out of sight of the monkeys on the temple staircase.

Are the entry fees included?

The listing does not say. The Emerald Pool and the hot springs are run by different bodies and charge their own fees; the temple itself is free. Check the booking page before you pay.
