Cooking classes in Krabi

Hands-on Thai cooking classes in Ao Nang and Krabi, from two hours to a half day, and who each one suits.

A cooking class is one of the few things to do in Krabi that depends on neither the tide nor the sea. It needs no boat, and it fills a half day between a morning on the beach and an evening at the night market.

The four classes we list differ more than their titles suggest. Two are four-hour half days, one of them ending with a meal and closed to children aged 12 and under; one spends three and a half hours on four dishes and the ingredients behind them; one is a two-hour street-food class with vegan and vegetarian options. We have not been able to confirm the dishes of any of them, so read the menu on the booking page before you choose.

Common questions

Which class suits vegetarians?

The two-hour street-food class in Ao Nang is the only one whose booking page lists vegan and vegetarian options. For the others, ask the operator before you book.

Can children take part in a cooking class?

It depends on the class. The street-food class has a child rate for ages 11 and under; the Thai Charm class does not take children aged 12 and under; the other two state no minimum age, so ask before booking for a young child.

Can I book a cooking class on the day?

Two of the classes we list can be booked up to an hour and a half before they start; the other two need at least 10 hours' notice.
