This is the four-island day that lets you pick the boat. The islands are the ones just off Ao Nang and Railay: Poda, Tup, Chicken Island, and the beach under the Railay cliffs that the operator calls both Railay Beach and Phra Nang Cave Beach. The day lasts six to six and a half hours, with time to swim, snorkel and sit on the sand.
What separates it from our longtail four-island tour is the booking, not the islands. That one is longtail only, shared or private, with lunch in its title. This one lets you choose a speedboat, names Poda Island among its stops and is guided in English or Thai. It does not mention lunch, so check the booking page before you pay.
Which boat? The islands sit close to the coast, so the crossings are short either way. A speedboat gets you between stops sooner; a longtail is slower and noisier, but low on the water and unhurried, and on a route this short the time saved is small. Neither boat changes the two things that shape the day: the tide, which decides whether the sandbar at Koh Tup shows, and the crowd, because the islands are rarely empty.
Stop 1 of 4
The island where four-island boats usually land, for a swim and time on the beach.
Stop 2 of 4
At low tide a sandbar joins Koh Tup to its neighbours; whether it shows depends on the day's tide, not on the programme.
Stop 3 of 4
Named for the rock at its tip, which looks like the head and neck of a chicken from the right angle.
Stop 4 of 4
The operator gives both names. Phra Nang is the beach at the foot of the cliffs at the end of the Railay peninsula, with a cave shrine at one end.
01
Longtail or speedboat for the same route, chosen at booking.
02
Poda, Tup, Chicken Island and Railay are all listed by the operator.

The tour is guided in either language; pick yours when you book.
On this route the crossings are short, so a speedboat saves little time. Take the longtail for the slower day close to the water; take the speedboat if you would rather spend less time on the boat between stops.
The islands overlap; the booking does not. That tour is longtail only, shared or private, with lunch in its title. This one offers a speedboat, names Poda Island and is guided in English or Thai. Check which one includes lunch before you choose.
Only if the tide is low enough while you are there. It depends on the day, and no operator can promise it.
The listing does not say. Fees for the islands are often paid in cash on the day, so check the booking page before you pay.
